The product that goes into more plans than any other in NOSA's Style Curator isn't a sofa. It's a floor lamp costing a little over NT$8,000. As of August 2026, the Zuiver Aero floor lamp had been used 426 times — 12 more than the modular sofa in second place.

The ranking is slightly counter-intuitive. The order you'd imagine is sofa first, then coffee table, with lighting added at the end. But the Curator logs what people actually commit to, and lighting comes out on top.
Why lighting, and why now
Homes in Taiwan are handed over with essentially one ceiling light per room. That light delivers brightness; it can't deliver atmosphere. Adding another source means the ceiling wiring, which was sealed behind calcium silicate board long ago — so unless you're rewiring, all you have is a wall socket. A floor lamp is the only way to add light without touching the ceiling, without calling an electrician, and while still being able to take it with you when you move. For renters it's even more clear-cut: the walls and ceiling were never theirs to begin with.
The other reason is about timing. Sofas and beds are usually settled during the renovation period, before anyone has actually lived in the space. The shortage of light only registers a month or two after moving in, on some evening when you're reading on the sofa and notice that the ceiling light is bleaching the page and throwing shadows across your face. A floor lamp is a need that grows out of living somewhere. It shows up late in the planning process, and it shows up more often than anything else.
Something else hidden in the ranking
Open up the top twelve and, apart from the sofas and beds, everything on the list is something one person can carry. What customers reach for late in the process is small, priced around NT$10,000, and requires no installation. The large pieces set the skeleton; the small ones decide what the place feels like to live in — and that second layer is where the Curator is genuinely busy.
This demand barely comes from search at all
Cross-checking recent Google Search Console data, not one of the top 50 queries by impressions for nosa.tw is a lighting category term. The leaders are brand names — rareraw, nychair x, trudon, audo — meaning people arrive already knowing the brand.
So the person who ends up adding a floor lamp mostly didn't type "best floor lamp" to get here. They came for something else, started putting a scheme together, and only then remembered that one corner of the living room has always been dark.

The Aero is essentially a scaled-up drafting lamp: 120 cm tall, with an angled arm reaching out 57.5 cm and a cylindrical shade at the end only 6 cm across, so the beam is very narrow. It belongs beside a lounge chair or sofa as a reading light; expecting it to light a whole living room will disappoint. The Zuiver Tripod goes the other way — a 157 cm tripod carrying a 50 cm fabric shade, with light spilling down from above shoulder height to fill the space rather than the page. The Dutchbone Murphy's arched stem carries the light source out from the base, so it can stand behind a sofa and reach forward without being forced into a walkway.
The socket is worth a look too. The Aero takes GU10 (ES111) up to 5W LED; the Tripod and the Murphy take E27; none of the three includes a bulb. That affects more than which replacement to buy — it also determines colour temperature, because colour temperature comes from the bulb, not the fitting. The same lamp with a 2700K bulb and with a 4000K bulb gives you two different rooms.
