Audo Copenhagen, Denmark
Denmark's Audo Copenhagen (formerly Menu) is renowned for timeless Nordic design, with chairs, side tables, and home accessories that are both beautiful and durable. NOSA is the official agent in Taiwan, curating design pieces from Europe, Japan, and Korea, helping you compose a home of your own with warm, considered design, one piece at a time.
Light, elegant, sculptural, and full of artistic spirit, the Penguin Dining Chair is a rare Danish modernist classic designed by Danish furniture designer Ib Kofod-Larsen in 1953.
When this chair first launched in the United States, it was also known as the "Ib Kofod-Larsen Chair," and thus became Larsen's signature work.
The proportions of this chair are distinctive: a slightly broad seat and backrest, paired with a large organic-form shell, contrast sharply with the slender, lightweight frame, carrying a touch of innocent purity. Yet at the same time, the Penguin Dining Chair is a refined and bold chair with great character—a chair that is versatile but never ordinary.
The lines on both sides of the backrest, resembling penguin wings, are a hallmark of Ib Kofod-Larsen's consistently clean and sincere aesthetic.
Its curved backrest conforms to the body's curves, providing comfortable support and a unique seating experience.
Whether in a home space or a public setting, the Penguin Dining Chair blends in perfectly and reveals its distinctive charm.
