For a gifted designer, nothing tests their craft more than “simplicity.” Sapoto takes its name from the Japanese word for “support.” To emphasize this core design concept, designer Kasper Friis Egelund combines sand-cast and hand-polished aluminium organic curves with a rugged, deeply hued stone base, so the base is no longer a mere accessory but a highly distinctive aesthetic centrepiece. The gleaming sheen of the polished aluminium trays and bowls forms a striking contrast with the raw touch of the marble base. The Sapoto series is designed to spark curiosity, inviting users to touch, pick up and share. Whether displayed alone or combined, the layered, sculptural structures create a captivating, dynamic beauty within a space.
