Some people buy the candle for the jar
Candles have changed position in Taiwanese living rooms. They used to sit in the bathroom or the bedroom, their job was to cover a smell, and you threw them away once they burned down. Now they turn up on low tables, lined up with books, vases and small sculptures — and once the wax is gone, the vessel stays.
The search terms changed first
Looking at our own Google Search Console: over the four weeks from 21 July to 16 August 2026, the term "trudon" gave nosa.tw 697 impressions at an average position of 8.8, and produced just 4 actual clicks. That impression volume ranks near the top of all our non-brand terms while converting almost not at all, which means these people are already looking — they just haven't found us yet.
What's worth noticing is what they type. Someone searching for "scented candle recommendations" is looking for a smell. Someone searching for "trudon" is looking for an object. The second group has usually seen a photo, and what they remember is the dark green glass vessel and the gold medallion on the front, not the top, heart and base notes. That difference is the evidence that candles are turning from consumables into objects.
What you're paying for is what's left when it's finished
Judged purely on burn hours, an NT$1,880 candle doesn't look good on a cost-per-hour basis. Count it as a piece of tabletop decoration and the arithmetic changes. Trudon's vessel is hand-blown green glass with a metal medallion pressed onto the outside; BLACK BLAZE goes for a matte all-black finish with a metal lid. Both put the money into the container, because they know the customer will keep it.
That also explains why the fragrance category has grown faster than we expected on our site. NOSA's fragrance collection currently runs to 54 products across Trudon, BLACK BLAZE, KOHL, BAOBAB, CULTI and FRAMA, and plenty of them are bought as objects rather than as refills.

The last row of the table is the control group. Incense leaves no vessel behind, and its price stops below a thousand dollars. The difference in price doesn't buy a stronger scent; it buys the thing that will still be seen afterwards.
It has pulled trays along with it
Once a candle is treated as decoration, it needs a base. The photo above shows the most common solution: a brass or stone tray gathering the candle, the diffuser and the matches onto one plane, so the surface doesn't scatter. In our styling work this is a very consistent pairing — once a client has chosen a low table, the next question is almost always what goes on top of it.
